Breast Cancer Recovery Celebration Bear

Breast Cancer Recovery Celebration Bear

I am pleased to introduce the NEW Breast Cancer Recovery Celebration Bears for custom orders upon the encouragement of one of my collectors. The bears in the photos are samples of the original launch. They are 8.5" to 9" tall, mohair La De Da' Shabby Artisan Bears™. Sculpted clay nose (no mold, free hand), sculpted leather eye lids with "wet" tear accents around her glass eyes for a magical, dimensional gaze. Their mouths are hand-painted. Center seam head design, hand shaded. Their arms and legs are disk jointed and heads are wobble jointed for a little movement making them nod more for a shy, "pick me up" appeal. They have extra long arms that hang gracefully and tight to their sides and somewhat of a concave chest to resemble a long loved bear whose stuffing is a bit worn from many hugs. Their bellies are very rotund. Both are created in a matted, sparse, two tones of hand dyed petal pink mohair and have been treated and hand tinted/painted in multiple shades of clay, gray and blush pink pigments then blended for a watercolor effect around the eyes/cheek area and for an aged, vintage appeal throughout the body. They are very well loved, plucked, weathered and worn to look like a bear from yester-year. They are stuffed with poly, copper shot (belly) and lavender buds, imported from Provence, France. I am adding lavender to all of my bears for a distinct signature element and to enhance the "hug" experience with a gentle, therapeutic natural scent. Squeezing the buds helps release the scent....it is very mild. Both wear a hand dyed and hand "shabbified" ribbon with designs of butterflies, a symbol of transformation, the signature breast cancer ribbon symbol and the words, "Courage", "Hope" and "Faith" for a bit of la de da' flair on their sweet heads. The name of the person you are celebrating can be added as well. They can stand on their own with a little help. They have a cute 'pigeon toed' stance when standing giving them a certain whimsy. All of my designs are one of kind, no two bears are alike. From my heart to your hand....I hope the La De Da' Bears™ bring you a smile. A portion of all the Breast Cancer Recovery Celebration Bears and Breast Cancer Awareness Bears are donated to various cancer research groups and events.
